More buzzbait tips
1. Buzz Baits work best in calm water on a cloudy day.
2. Add strips of metalic tape to your buzzbait blade for additional flash.
3. Try using a trailor hook. This will add 2 inches of striking area behind your bait and allow the bass to get the hook into it's mouth.

Buzzbait Techniques
Hooksetting The bass will not let go of the buzzbait for a few seconds, so let them take the buzzbait down with them. Do not set the hook when they first attack the bait, wait till after they take it down and you feel solid weight.
Short Strikes It’s not that fish actually miss the buzzbait or short strike, but I think it’s more that anglers react too soon and try to set the hook before the fish completely engulfs it. To stop this, do not use trailers, this way there is not too much stuff trailing out past the hook for the fish to nip at
When Not to Use Buzzbait You will notice that there is times when fish don’t really seem to be into buzzbaits. If fish are going to hit the buzz, they'll let you know about it right away and will be constantly nipping at it. If you find they are barely nipping or biting at your bait at all then don't waste your time. Just switch lures.
